Dr. Yordan Gospodinov is the new Chairman of the Black Sea Advisory Council

On 19-20.11.2018 in Varna the General Assembly of the Black Sea Advisory Council (BlSAC) conducted an Elective meeting. On this meeting, the decision was made to elect 10 new members to govern the Executive Committee, whose Chairman for the next three years will be Dr. Yordan Gospodinov.

Florin Lucian, who is a Romanian citizen, was elected as a General Secretary, and he is succeeding Dr. Gospodinov to the post.

The Assembly adopted a number of important decisions for future Statute reforms, and it determined deadlines and people in charge to draft chapter recommendations. The General Assembly accepted the applications and the subsequent documents to welcome five new candidates as members of BlSAC. Three of these are fisheries organizations, and the list goes on to include a fish trade organization, and an NGO.

The Assembly consulted its members on the draft texts of the work programme for 2019, and adopted the draft budget, as well as the cost of membership fee for the following year. Dr. Gospodinov thanked everyone for the honour and for his election as a Chairman of this highly acclaimed forum, as well as for the responsible attitude shown in the conduction of the General Assembly meeting.

Following protocol, the European observers which participated in the meeting were the Coordinator for the Advisory Councils of the EC, and a representative of GD MARE – Mrs. Pascal Colson.
